Inviting mushroom enthusiasts, foragers, artists, and environmental advocates to explore the powerful role of fungi in ecosystems, culture, health, and local food systems. This volunteer-led, community-rooted event takes place in the stunning Boundary region and Christina Lake, and positions the area as a growing hub for eco, agro, and cultural tourism. The weekend will offer a dynamic mix of education, art, food, and forest experiences designed to inspire curiosity, stewardship, and connection.

Mycowaters 2026
FREE community field workshops exploring the vital relationship between fungi, forests, and watershed health, presented by the Boundary Mushroom Festival.
Led by local volunteers and guest mycologist Erik Hrabovsky, MycoWaters brings together ecology, citizen science, and community stewardship through hands-on learning in the Boundary region. Discover the role fungi play in forest and watershed health, mycelium and water remediation, ethical foraging practices, and how local residents can help protect creeks and riparian ecosystems.

MycoWaters is a community-based arts and science initiative advancing watershed stewardship actions in the Kettle River and Christina Lake Watershed Management Plans. Created following the success of the 2025 Boundary Mushroom Festival, this nonprofit initiative supports ecological education, watershed preservation, community stewardship, forest-based economic resilience, grassroots science and knowledge sharing.
